Explaining an ABG to a patient

The RT was drawing an ABG on one side while the lab tech was drawing blood from the other side.  The patient asked, "Why do you both have to draw blood?"

The RT said, "You have two types of blood.  She's drawing one and I'm drawing the other."

The patient said, "Oh, I already know what type of blood I have: type A."

The RT thinks, "Huh?"
