The empty Styrofoam water cup sitting on the pre-surgical patient's bedside table had written on its side, "Have a great day" next to a smiley face.
Right under that was writen in all caps, "NPO."
For those of you unfamiliar with medical abbreviations, NPO means nothing by mouth.
Have a great day all right.
