Omicron is a good thing

Some states are panicking about Omicron. Some states are creating more mask hysteria. Some cities are panicking. They are freaking out. They are doing this because Omicron is 70% more contagious. And we are seeing more COVID cases than ever before. But, another reason for the spike is that more people are being tested. And that is unnecessary. 

People who are not experiencing symptoms do not need to be tested. The only reason to be tested is if the medicine is needed to change the course of the disease. Omicron in most people poses no worse symptoms than the common cold. And if you get the cold, there's nothing you can do. So rarely do we get tested? You do not need to be tested for soft or mild colds. 

Omicron is 80% less deadly than the Delta or original COVID variants. And this is good. It is no reason to panic. It means that Omicron is no different than the flu. Upwards of 10,000 people die of the flu each year. But we don't go into hiding. We don't panic over the flu. And if Omicron makes COVID equal to the flu, that is a good thing. It means we don't need to go into hiding anymore. In fact, just the opposite. We should be able to go on living our lives. 

Omicron is going to affect everyone. We are all going to get Omicron. It doesn't matter if you wear a cloth mask. It doesn't matter if you wear an n-95 mask. It doesn't matter if you do everything right. You are going to get Omicron. And this is good, in that it allows you to get full immunity without getting sick. And this allows us to get to full herd immunity. And this allows our pandemic to turn endemic, like the flu. 

That is good. Omicron is a good thing.
