Grin and bear it.

People need people. As a general rule some people are cruel. With other life needs satiated, life can either be made great or terrible by the people we surround ourselves by. And no matter what we do we cannot avoid other people. However some times that would be nice.

I guess my point here is I love working with people. I love helping people. I love it when I do something that saves a life or makes a difference in a person's life. I also love it when my boss comes to me and says something like, "You are an irreplaceable member of this department."

Still, no matter how well things are going, there is always one person who seems to enjoy driving down one's happiness. And I think the best thing to do when around these people is go grin and bear it. It's for people like this that politics was invented.

I like to say that I have no enemies. However, to say that would be foolish because there is no person alive with no enemies. No matter how nice of a person you can be, and I like to think that I'm rather amiable, there will always be people who strive to bring you down.

When you know who these people are it's to your advantage. Yet, when you have no clue what person is badmouthing you nor why he is doing it, your life is made that much more difficult.

Yet still you continue to listen to that niche in the back of your mind say, "Grin and bear it."

Why? Because you don't want to be that fool who makes excuses. You don't want to be that person who complains. You want to be the person with the thick skin who goes about his business, continuously trying to be the best he can be.

This is never easy. But it is life.

I am SOOO with you on this. I am utterly miserable at work, yet I grin and bare it day after day(post to come soon). It will get better, one way or another. Hang in there.

I totally agree. I verbalize it as "No one's going to make me be someone I'm not". Which is what you were talking about not letting it get you down, not being the person making excuses, not being the person complaining. Although it is frustrating working with people like that because all you want to do is smack 'em.
