The truth may never come

Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.  Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.  But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.  (2 Timothy 3:7-9)
This basically refers to ignorant people wanting to teach.

I write often on this blog that much of what we do as respiratory therapists is a waste of time or delays time.  Yet the reason for this is the blind are leading the blind.  The same doctors who have no clue about respiratory therapy are teaching in medical schools.  They think they are sharing the truth, yet they have never found it.

They never find the truth because they look in the wrong places, or choose not to see.  They have millions of respiratory therapists right here, look and see!  We are here.  We see what happens before, during and after every breathing treatment.  We see.  We are with the patient.  Let us do our jobs.  Let us teach you.

Yet they fail to do this.  Most physicians continue to believe bronchodilators are the cure all for all that is short of breath, and they continue to teach new generations this.  It sounds good to give a treatment, it may even have a placebo effect, but no real effect.  Thus, the medical industry, both nurses and doctors (not all, Lord no, not all; but enough), refuse to see the truth.  They have corrupt minds in this way.

I'm sorry if I took this out of context, as Timothy is referring to blind men who fail to see what is right in front of their eyes: that God is among us.  "But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was."  Yes, you have the blind leading the blind, the unfaithful leading the unfaithful.

Thus was the difficulty of God's task, and is the difficulty of my task in ending bronchodilator abuse.  Although God's task is way more important than mine, hence I simply resign myself to this silly blog.

OMG I was just complaining about this today, there's three particular doctors in the hospital where I work, that feel that bronchodilators fix everything from a broken toe to a bloody nose. There's a patient with a significant history of CHF, and the doctor refuses to believe that this short of breath, swollen legged woman needs more lasix. NOPE She needs breathing treatments by golly! UGGH. So annoying.

Anyway, on a brighter note, I'm a new follower! I'm a respiratory therapist from Wyoming, and am glad I stumbled onto your blog :)

I get that a lot from my readers: "Wow! I was thinking that too." I love those kind of comments. It helps me to realize that I am not alone in thinking this way or that way. Thank you.
