- Handle baby gently
- No trendelenberg
- Avoid excessive pressure on CPAP
- Use SpO2 and ABG to gradually adjust FiO2, as rapid chanages in CO2 result in increased risk of intracraneal bleeding
- Do not give rapid infusions of fluid
- Avoid hypertonic solutions
